Orlando Repertory Theatre

Have you ever thought about taking your family to see a play at a theatre, but the thought of how your exceptional needs child may react makes you second guess that experience? Well, now here is your chance!

The Orlando Rep is a local community theatre whose mission is to create experiences that enlighten, entertain, and enrich the lives of families and young audiences. In addition to their regular shows each season, they choose one day for select shows and turn them into Sensory-Friendly performances.

Sensory-Friendly performances are specifically modified for children with Autism or other sensory processing disorders and exceptional needs. They even provide a social story that families can download at www.orlandorep.com to help prepare them for the theatre experiences prior to attending the show.

What can you expect at an Orlando Rep Sensory Friendly-Performance?

  • Volunteers are stationed in the lobby and throughout the theatre to assist families as they are seated.

  • Adjustments have been made to the show’s lighting and sound effects and a quiet room is available, should families need to leave the theatre at any time.

  • Children are allowed to stand up or move around the theatre if they need to while enjoying the show.

Be sure to mark your calendars now to enjoy these Sensory-Friendly Performances! Tickets are only 10.00! Buy tickets here.
