Sensory Boo at the Zoo and More!
It’s the first weekend in October and that means it’s time to begin celebrating fall and sensory friendly Halloween events! This week, we are sharing three events: trick or treating at the zoo, a musical experience at Rollins College, and Buddy Up Tennis! Find details for each specific event below!
Saturday October 5th
What? Sensory Boo at the Zoo
Enjoy trick-or-treating, games and more throughout Paws On at this event designed for individuals with unique sensory processing needs and their families! The Exceptional Nature Space and Wildlife Detective Training Academy will be open for play, too. Families must register online in order to attend this special event.
When? Saturday October 5th, 5-7pm

What?: Sharp Musical Experience
Enjoy a fun filled musical event that is uniquely designed for individuals with disabilities and their families.
Where? Rollins College Tiedtke Hall

When? Saturday, October 5th, 7pm
Cost? FREE
What? Buddy Up Tennis
The Buddy Up Tennis Program hosts weekly 90-minute clinics. These clinics are broken down into 30 minutes of fitness conditioning, and 60 minutes of professional tennis instruction. Buddies (Volunteers) are partnered with Athletes, to provide one-on-one attention and grow meaningful connections and relationships. No tennis experience is required. Team T-shirts and racquets are provided.
Who?: All children ages 5 or older and or adults with Down syndrome are welcome to participate in Buddy Up Tennis as an "Athlete," regardless of ability or prior experience.
