Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk
21st Annual Step up for Down Syndrome Walk
On October 19th, 2019, the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida will be hosting their 21st Annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk at Lake Eola Park in Orlando. Thousands of families, friends, and community partners come together to Step Up for Down Syndrome, a walk to raise awareness and funds for the more than 50 programs the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida provides to families all year round. The Down Syndrome Association describes the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk as the biggest celebration of love, support, and joy for people with Down Syndrome and their families in all of Florida! In addition to the walk, there will be bounce houses, games, family activities, live music, resource exhibitors and much more.
Collaborative Corner for Exceptional Children is excited to be a part of the event! We are thrilled to be hosting the Sensory Tent which will be an area where children and their families can participate in sensory friendly activities. Be on the lookout for activities such as shaving cream tables and sensory bins filled with water beads and dried rice and beans filled manipulatives to enhance this sensory friendly experience.
As a new non-profit, Collaborative Corner is currently seeking monetary donations from the community in order to fund this sensory experience for this event. If you would like to donate please click here.
