Education
Collaborative Corner’s educational consultants are more than “advocates.” Our education team collaborates and consults with physicians, medical specialists, behavior analysts, speech and language pathologists, psychologists, and other professionals to ensure each child’s education plan fully supports their individualized needs.
We believe that YOU are the expert on your child. With this in mind, Collaborative Corner assists families in learning the various processes within the education system. We will guide and support you during each process, from initial eligibility to post-secondary transition services and everything in between. We aim to help you, so YOU can continue advocating for your child’s future.
What is an Educational Advocate?
A Special Education Advocate assists families of children with any learning concerns. Some students have already identified needs, whereas other parents will seek advocacy support to help them identify issues affecting their child's learning. An advocate protects the civil rights of children with special needs. They protect their rights to due process and equal access to free public education (FAPE). A special education advocate has knowledge and expertise with special education as its applicable to federal and state laws. An advocate can act as a representative between a family and the school system.
