Indoor Play: Create Your Own Fun
Are you anxious about having the kids cooped up while they are off from school and on winter vacation?
Do you fear it will be too cold to go outside and play?
Here are some fun ideas to make indoor play fun!
Yoga
Improves balance
Improves flexibility
Helps kids de-stress
Teaches breath control for relaxation
Practice following directions
Obstacle courses
Practice problem solving skills to come up with ideas
Encourage teamwork with peers/siblings to set up
Use pillows, blankets, cushions as obstacles
Practice balance walking on uneven surfaces
Practice taking turns
Create tunnels with furniture and blankets
Use a puzzle or matching game to give each pass a purpose
Dance Party
Play music and dance!
Try to remain active 30-60 minutes
Use a visual countdown timer to track time (App Store)
Scavenger Hunt
Make a list of items to find in the house
Set a timer and go!
