Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk Recap

This past Saturday, November 16, was the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk. This incredible event is held yearly to raise awareness and funding for more than 50 programs that the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida provides to families year round.

Collaborative Corner for Exceptional Children was honored to not only have a booth at the event, but to host the activities at the sensory tent! There were water beads, shaving cream, coloring sheets, bubbles, and popcorn/rice sensory bins for children to enjoy and explore. There was Jenga and Connect 4 too!

We had an amazing experience playing with the children, interacting with families, and meeting new organizations! Check out a few incredible photos below!

We were surprised at the end of the event with the Volunteer Extraordinaire Award! What an honor, truly, for us to be a part of this special day! None of this would have been possible without our Impact sponsor, Pillar Homes. Thanks to their sponsorship, Collaborative Corner for Exceptional Children was able to provide the children and families at this event with support, positive memories, and resources as they navigate their individual journeys.

Additional information about sponsorship and partnership opportunities will be coming this week!

Thank you to Pillar Homes for sponsoring the sensory tent and thank you to the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida for allowing us the opportunity to be part of this amazing event!
